4 BAA 4 HAS BEEN SOLD TO THE TINY TOON TEAM!! IT WILL NOW BE COMPETING UNDER THE NAME 4 4 TOON!!
4 baa 4 is one of our latest robots which we bought from Team Lambsy in august 2007 along with Cutlet (now Aftershock). We had to replace one of the gold motors before we could actually run it but we managed to get one and fit it before Robots Live! Hemel Hempstead.
After having several fights at Hemel without any real success (it drove under the floor flipper), we decided to take out he electronize speed controllers and replace it with a much better scorpion XL which has greatly improved the control. The top speed is around 20MPH and it can still do that with another robot in front of it. The whole machine is made from Titanium and Aliminium which gives reasonable protection, however the titanium could be thicker as the axes have damaged the top panel.
We are planning some more improvements including thicker titanium top and bottom plates, thicker front and back scoops, change the gearing for more pushing power and less speed.
Event Record
Robots Live! Hemel Hempstead 2007- This was 4 baa 4s first event with us and it didn't go too well. The electronize speed controllers were not very responsive which meant that control was very difficult. This meant that it drove under the arena floor flipper and could not actually hit an opponent let alone push them.
Roaming Robots- Portsmouth- First event with the new scorpion XL speed controller and the control was now much better and it even managed to push someone into the pit. Once again though it drove under the floor flipper.
Roaming Robots- Maidstone- Ran in the whiteboard fight but didn't do too well.
Roaming Robots- Nottingham- Didn't enter in the competition but entered the whiteboards. Had a couple of good fights but did not win any.
